Great option for the price, but I recommend a higher end model.
This is my second Roborock. The first one was, and continues to be the, Curv X. I only ordered this for the carpeted basement because it was on sale. It does very well and I have no complaints, except, after the higher end models, this isn’t even close. It doesn’t mean its bad and it does a very very good job for everything I need it too. Don’t over think it. If you have a level that is mostly carpet and doesn’t have a lot of things laying around, this is great option. If you are wanting a fully automated system for carpets, tiles, and hardwood, I’m telling you, spend the money and buy the most expensive one you can! The level of tech is orders of magnitude higher in the upper end models.Nevertheless, this maps perfectly, rarely gets stuck, is super quiet, and vacuums well. The non tangle feature is useless and I take the roller off once a week to pull pet hair out of it. I have had it “return to dock” and not charge only once. I also had to remap the whole basement because I couldn’t fiddle around with it like I can the Curv. This is a good option if you have a smaller simple place. I just warn you that if you really want a fully automatic vacuum, spend as much money as you can. These things are amazing at the upper end and will change your life!

You want one and it’s budget friendly.
Let me start by saying I really like this cleaner. It works as described and is excellent in keeping the areas clean. It was relatively inexpensive, I paid $219. If given the opportunity to have a “do over”, and keeping with “inexpensive” I probably would have chosen the Q10 S5+ because it appears the mopping function is different…not sure if it’s better and for object avoidance. It was $30 more. The mop on this Q7 M5+ is just ok, and has had a few minor issues, catching on things or coming off on its own.Areas to improve: Yes, it has a water tank. Nowhere in the quick start is that mentioned. Mapping is great, but it’s not clear that you really need to map the whole house in case you later want to add a room later that you don’t want to include today. Are there better robots out there? Probably, for $600 to $1500. However for a reasonable budget, I’d recommend this all day long. I did find it interesting that it didn’t bother my cat or dogs. Yes, It can be a tiny noisy as it rumbles over grates etc. I have it scheduled to clean at 930pm each night. Not an issue.

Totally recommend Q7 L5 RoboRock vacuum /mop
I love the Q7 L5 RoboRoc vacuum /mop. My second RoboRock vacuum /mop in 6 years; both still running and programmed to clean on schedule twice a day. Totally recommend. Q7 L5 is reasonably priced, the App has many convenient options – very clear map where you can set the order /sequence of rooms to be cleaned and when; easily check the app remotely to see where the vacuum /mop is located in its routine. Cleans and glides close to furniture without unnecessarily bumping or marking the furniture; very thorough, doesn’t leave debris on floor, rarely gets stuck anywhere, always allows ample time to return to docking station for recharge without dying where it’s unable to charge, and many more pluses. Totally recommend.

Works great on hard floors, but not carpet for me.
I’ve had this vacuum for a few months now and after useage have found that although it works its little heart out and is so good at navigating, even avoiding cords, or the occasional item left laying on the floor, it only picks up well on hard floors. For me, it is unable to clean even my braided rugs or low level carpeted room. I bought it because I thought it said it was able to handle pet hair and people hair with brushes designed not to get covered with hair on the brushes but in my case that has not been true at all. I still have to get the scissors out and collect my Shelties fur off the brushes and even when freshly cleared, it will not pick up her light fluffy collie hair from our throw rugs. It’s a bit disappointing but other than that, it navigates so intelligently, it does not get stuck, ever, and it finds its way home and empties itself wonderfully. If you have hard flooring, this is a great vacuum. If you have pets, not so much.

I was looking for a robot that can really vacuum and mop well, and thought that is not possible. I had a Neato XV Signature Pro that vacuums well, and thought that could not be surpassed. I was wrong. Roborock S5 Max could do either or both vacuuming and mopping very well. The other features that one can use from the App is wonderful too. Bought a unit for my parents and might buy one for my in-laws. “The Rock” is now our BFF!

The floor is really clean after the mopping.
