I can’t believe how good this is
Outstanding product. Keeps the room’s humidity at 50%, and in auto mode is virtually silent. Easy to fill, uses tap water and no mist or white powder. Performs way above expectations. For an evaporative humidifier, I couldn’t ask for more.

Humidifies and filters the air
Good product, durable, good design and looks nice in a room, can work with your phone to access controls, and has a soothing sound if you need white noise. It is durable and it will shut off at the appropriate humidity level that is chosen. Yes and it doesn’t leak.

Broke within 2 weeks. DO NOT RECOMMEND
I purchased this thinking it would be useful. For the first couple of weeks, it worked really well. I was filling it up twice a day to maintain the humidity. After that, it started to not work. I noticed it was leaking, but I thought that was due to user error (turns out, it was not). I also noticed the pump stopped working and the humidity was staying around 25% instead of the 40% to 50% I was aiming for. The wick was also staying bone dry, proving the pump was not working. I took the pieces apart, put in fresh water, and tried again to no luck. I then was hearing a noise coming from the machine, almost like a clicking sound. I then contacted customer service, where they told me to do a citric acid soak for 2 hours after I did a hard reset. That did not work. Instead, the clicking noise stayed longer than I would have liked, but the pump did not work. I tried the hard reset again, but that also was not working.I called this morning to see about getting a new pump, and they refused simply because I purchased on Amazon, and it is still in the return window, refusing to start honoring the 1 year warranty option. (And they make it impossible to set up to register the product to ensure you get a 3 year warranty, but that is a separate issue.)I ended up doing more research as well when the pump stopped working, and this is a whole issue they seem to have often with this machine. Multiple people talk about how the machine breaks fast and how the pump needs to be replaced within a season at least once. Check reddit about this, where multiple people complain. All in all, I wasted $150 on a machine that broke in 2 weeks, and dealt with subpar customer service.

What’s the difference between the best rated ultrasonic versus evaporative humidifiers first
If you’ll review the more popular options for humidifiers, you’ll find two distinct possibilities: ultrasonics or evaporators. We previously owned the highest rated ultrasonic model that could handle our entire 1200 sq. ft. cottage, which was one-third of the price of the highest rated evaporator model. However the initial price is only a part of the value equation, ultimately proving to be much more expensive in the long run. You should also incorporate the need to use distilled versus filtered water for your source of supply. I decided to give this bedroom model a test before deciding on Blue Air’s larger equipment. It is hand’s down a better buy! it may not put out as much moisture per minute as the ultrasonics, but it’ll get there and making the Blue Air much quieter for the bedroom. It is easier to fill, by pouring the water through the top crevice (be sure to have it turned off before filling) as opposed to having to take it apart, it’s programming instructions are simple to follow, you clean it once each week, and not having to shell out $2.50/gallon for distilled water a couple times each week gives it tremendous value. I decided to also purchase Blue Air’s larger capacity machine for our living room area. It’s every bit as good as their bedroom model!

Update: Works! But lack of support still a concern
Update: I have it running again. I think what happens is that sometimes an air bubble will get into the pump and cause it to make a loud buzzing sound like a cheap aquarium pump. It can be fixed by emptying the water out of the pump and, with a bit of luck, refilling it without another air bubble getting in. I’ve had this happen several times but so far has always been fixable with some effort.I do very regular maintenance on the unit (we have hard water) to descale the filter and reservoir. This maintenance still takes less time then on ultrasonic humidifiers I have and using tap water instead of distilled has been awesome. The main issue I’m finding is a buildup of orange scale in the output hole from the pump and the hole it mates to, which doesn’t seem cleanable. That could be an issue in time.Still very disappointed in BlueAir’s customer support.———I really liked this at first. Humidifed well, allows a specific humidity to be set and then is pretty good at maintaining it, very quiet at least on the first 2 fan settings. But most of all, requires MUCH less maintenance (cleaning) than the ultrasonic humidifiers I had been using. So why 1 star? Because after 2 months of working well it started making a loud buzzing sound. The sound is coming from the pump. Obviously defective. So I go to the BlueAir website to get support and find that their website is broken. You can’t register the product which they require you to do to extend the paltry 1 year warranty, and when I try to submit an issue ticket that fails too. Terrible customer support. So hopefully they pickup the phone when I call them, which I hate to have to do.Could have been a good product, maybe I just got a bad unit, but the lack of support is a dealbreaker. I thought this was a good brand. Lesson learned.

I’m loving my Blueair Humidifier. It’s very quiet and easy to fill with water. Best of all, no white dust!

I already have two Blueair air filters so I know that this Swedish company produces high-quality products. This humidifier was very easy to set up and I like it because it does not require using distilled water which I would need to purchase and lug in to the house. It uses tapwater and I have a device that measures air quality which I have used with it while functioning and it does not produce damaging air particles when in use. Excellent product and working well using wifi.

I purchased this humidifier expecting strong performance and reliable humidification, given the high price and premium branding. Unfortunately, after a full week of nonstop operation, the humidity in my room barely changed: from 38% to 40%, and only within 30 cm of the unit. The rest of the room stays completely dry, and I still wake up with a dry nose — something that never happened with my previous humidifiers. The built-in display shows 55–60%, but an external hygrometer placed right next to it consistently reads around 40%. This means the unit either measures incorrectly or produces only localized moisture that never spreads into the room. The device is placed properly on a nightstand and used continuously, but the real-world effect is negligible.Overall, this is an attractive, expensive device that simply does not work in dry winter conditions. If you need actual humidity — not just a decorative appliance — this model will disappoint.

I’ve had this humidifier for a month now. I find it to be pretty good quality for what it is, but if you need something to produce A LOT of humidity, this isn’t the ideal item for you. The price is likely above what it should be for the results you see, but about what it should be for the engineering that went into it.The short story is that, this is a very nice, even premium, item when you look at how it operates. This is a wicking filter style humidifier, which means you should not be seeing white film all over your room/apartment/home but you are required to replace a filter every so often (the manufacturer says 3-6 months per filter, but I’m not sure if that will be the case or not yet). It does raise the humidity in a bedroom, but would be insufficient if you’re trying to use it for a living room or or larger space. The long story is this, I’ve had ultrasonic humidifiers. I’ve had very small personal ones that my wife and I have set on our bedside tables that had their own little filters for the water that worked quite well. The only problem was there were no filter replacements so you needed to replace the whole things about every year. We’ve tried large ultrasonic humidifiers which, unless you’re going to pay to use distilled water, are likely to leave a white film all over the place due to minerals in the water. We’ve tried ultrasonic humidifiers with cleaners and those little ball things that are supposed to help, but they don’t really do anything. We even found that our HVAC filter was getting clogged prematurely from using ultrasonic humidifiers. We’ve tried humidifiers that use heat, with these you don’t get the white film all over, but you get hard white crust all over the heating element area that, honestly, takes forever to clean sometimes. Even if you’re cleaning it once a week. We’ve always followed the recommendations by each manufacturer and have always had complaints or issues. With this though? Not as much, it’s not perfect, don’t get me wrong, but it solves the issues we have had in the past.Positives: The humidifer does work. Does it work as fast or as much as I would like? I don’t think so, it certainly doesn’t generate the kind of humidity that an ultrasonic one does, but so far it’s doing enough. It functions with a water pump that pushes water to cover the filter and a fan is used to blow humid water from the filter into the air. One huge positive of this is that the filter doesn’t sit in the water constantly helping mold to grow (this was an issue i ran into with a Honeywell model that has a wicking filter that sits against the water reservoir and is constantly wet, where I went through 3 filters in less than a month). After one month our filter only has the odd white bits (mineral deposits) and I have reason to believe it will last at least 2 month, maybe even the recommended timeframe. We don’t use the app for the humidifier and only use one setting (max fan). With max fan over a 6-9 hour sleep session we use between 2-3 litres of water or so each night, mostly depending on how humid it already is in our place. The humidifier also has a dry out mode, so if you turn it off, it will still run the fan intending to dry out the filter so it doesn’t sit wet indefinitely. This stops mold from growing and removes musty smells from permeating. After a month our filter still smells pretty normal. Cleaning is simpler than any other humidifier I’ve owned, there may be more pieces, but it’s nothing to put the right pieces in the sink with the right solution, and clean it down once a week. There aren’t millions of crevices you have to fight with and honestly, I haven’t had any scaling, mold, or scum to clean with me cleaning it weekly.Negatives: It doesn’t push out as much humidity as I wish it could. I get it, it’s a central unit with a wicking filter. That said we only use it for our bedroom. Do I wake up with dry throat and mouth? No, but is my nose dry some days? Yes. The price is a little high ($199.99 CAD) considering the results you get, but with a water pump and it pushing water over the filter, I think the price makes sense for the effort that went into the system. That said, I did get this item on a large sale.Medium things, or things that other people have mentioned as problematic that have little to no concern for me, personally: There is a humidity reading on the unit, however I don’t think anyone should use that with any certainty. I’ve seen some people complain that the humidity reading on the unit isn’t right, but of course it isn’t. It’s inside of the unit, of course it’s going to be more humid in, and around, the unit than it will be in the room. The only way to truly test the effectiveness of the unit would be to put it in one corner of a room and get a humidity reading from another corner… or something similar. I don’t know much about the timer settings or any other settings, I just run the fan at full speed and let it do it’s job. I found that at half speed we only use maybe 0.5-1 liter of water a night and I wake up far too dry. Never use company apps, I don’t care that they have an app. Just use the settings on the screen of the humidifier.Caveats: We only received this item in October 2025. It’s only been one month. We haven’t had to use the heat in our place, but we do leave our windows open often and live in a drier city. Will it be good enough for the winter? I can’t say with 100% certainty but I can only assume the wick will dry out faster and we’ll use more water. I’m also only using this for one specific use case (at home, in my bedroom, overnight) and am only sharing my personal feelings about the unit. To be clear, without a humidifier in our place, I wake up with my tongue stuck to the roof of my mouth, I don’t with this humidifier.I may update with new info if I feel it’s important, but if it’s not updated, assume it’s still working well for me.

Works great. I ditched all my mist-spraying humidifiers and switched to this evaporative type so it does not aerosolize mold or bacteria. Humidity feels natural and there is no white dust. Auto mode keeps the room in a comfortable range and the unit is quiet at night. Top-fill is easy and the tank lasts a long time. The companion app is thoughtfully designed and makes control and scheduling simple. Very happy with this purchase.
