It is great for what it is designed to do!
    * Updated – It is now almost 9 years later and it is still working great. I still stand by my original review! Great Product!!!!After buying it as a Christmas present for myself, I have thoroughly enjoyed it and have used it all day long every day. I read the bad reviews before and after I bought this kettle. Here are some observations from what I read in the 1 and 2-star reviews. For those of you that have had the kettle only last for a few months, to a year… I know that this kettle is expensive and should last longer. I would bet that after you pour a cup out of your kettle, you just set it back on the stand and walked off. This will put it into the hold temperature mode for about 30 more minutes. I know this is a feature but do you really need it to hold 212 degrees for an additional half hour? If you turn it off and then go back 30 minutes later and heat it again, it only takes a minute or two. Leaving it on puts unnecessary extra wear on the product fuse and heating base. I’m not defending it for burning out early, just suggesting a way to extend the life of the kettle. Next, I have read that after a month, a man and his wife still couldn’t figure out how to use it. Really?! You push the temperature you want and hit start, it beeps and stops blinking when ready. Got to wonder about that poor rating. Another one complained that it didn’t boil water any faster than their kettle on the stove. This is the one that gets me the most. If all you want to do is boil water, then save your money and boil water on your stove. This kettle is designed for tea lovers and press drinkers where a more precise temperature is required. This is what it is designed to do. If you throw boiling water over say, green tea, you have destroyed it. Press is best at 200-205 degrees. I, personally, got tired of boiling water then standing there with a thermometer waiting for the temperature to drop for my press coffee. If you just want to boil water… skip this and save your money. Another complaint was that the bottom was flaking off the inside of the kettle. It’s called “mineral deposit”, from your water. A little vinegar boiled once a month will solve this. If you have a coffee maker (it’s the number one reason it will quit working) or a tea kettle on your stove, it’s in there too. Another complaint was it was hard to fill and see the level. If you pick it up off the base and set it back down, it will light up and it becomes the easiest item you’ll ever own, to refill. And lastly, several complained it was hard to keep fingerprints and dirt off of it. It’s ‘STAINLESS STEEL’, wipe it with a damp sponge and dry it off. I have enjoyed it so far because it does what it is designed to do. A little preventive maintenance (turn it off when not needing it), routine cleaning ( as you should be doing with your coffee maker) and common sense ( the biggie) then hopefully you will not regret purchasing this kettle. For those that have treated it correctly and still had problems, you have an actual right to complain, but those other reviews, like described above, c’mon guys… common sense.

    Perfect coffee and tea companion!
::::: BACKGROUND :::::After years of having really bad coffee and tea, I started to educate myself. While there are SO many elements that go into a good cup of joe/tea, one of the biggest and most overlooked issues is brewing temperature. I have and use both a Chemex Coffee Maker 8 Cup Classic for pour-over coffee (the best method I’ve ever used) and a Teavana Perfect TeaMaker for teas. Both require pouring water through the top.For the longest time, I used a tea kettle for all of my water-heating needs. Then I thought I wanted an inexpensive electric kettle, one that just heats until boiling and then shuts off (I’m not sure why, that wouldn’t have done anything differently). But then I realized that I really need precise temperature control; a different temperature for every kind of tea and coffee is different still. That’s when the Cuisinart came into view.::::: PERFORMANCE :::::The kettle heats very quickly. It’s really nice that the heating element is actually in the base of the unit, shaving off a cord and weight from the kettle itself. While I haven’t double-checked the temperature to see how accurate it is, I must say that I have noticed a drastic difference in taste with all but black tea (which should be brewed at boiling anyway). My whole life I thought I hated green tea and I couldn’t figure out why oolong from a Chinese restaurant tasted so much better than at home. The brewing temperature!::::: BUILD :::::This has a very nice, strong build and looks very handsome on the counter. At first I thought the blue light on the water level window and buttons looked tacky, but now I rather like it. The “stainless” steel exterior is incredibly vulnerable to smudges and fingerprints, to the point that some marks seem to be permanently on there, no matter how hard I scrub. The lid has some sort of spring mechanism and opens very smoothly. There’s also a removable screen in the spout that seems kind of silly to me; it could only filter very large particules, larger than anyone would have in their source water. Seems kind of pointless to me!::::: ERGONOMICS :::::The handle has pretty good placement, balancing the weight of the water quite nicely, allowing a nice, even pour. The spout also gives a nice, steady stream. The streamlined base is really nice and includes the heating element and single cord.::::: OPTIONS :::::The temperature selections are pretty convenient; that IS the point of this product. In a perfect world, this would be a variable selector, allowing you to dial in the exact temperature, but I’m guessing that would be more costly. Each button not only has a prescribed temperature, but a suggested substance to brew with that water. For example, I most frequently use 200º French Press, which really should just say “Coffee”. Coffee is optimally brewed at 195-205º, so this preset is spot-on.The keep warm function works really nicely for me. In the case of brewing coffee via Chemex, you need to pour over rather slowly, as to not flood and underexpose the grounds. Periodically placing the kettle back on the base instantly heats the water right back to 200º and I’m good to go.::::: OVERALL :::::All in all, I’m very happy with this kettle. It’s a great brand, is nice looking, free of BPA, and offers convenient and (at least relatively) accurate presets. Most importantly, it helps me brew all of my favorite beverages at the proper temperature, yielding a VERY noticeably better drink. Though it’s relatively expensive, its very worth it to me! Highly recommended!::::: COFFEE SETUP :::::Just as an extra plug, I use this as a part of my perfect-coffee trio:- Cuisinart CPK-17 PerfecTemp 1.7-Liter Stainless Steel Cordless Electric Kettle- Bodum Bistro Electric Burr Coffee Grinder, Black- Chemex Coffee Maker 8 Cup ClassicI’ve never had a better cup than what this makes!

Excellent, durable appliance for over 10 years!
I just found my instruction booklet and receipt for this which I bought in November of 2014. It’s now July of 2025. I am amazed that I have used this “kettle” for over 10 years!! It works as well as it did in the first year! I love the fact that it has six different temperature settings. I can fix a cup of tea and drink it right away. I don’t have to burn my mouth because it was boiling water. It has a boil-dry protection feature just in case and I like the fact that it also has an automatic shut off feature as well. It will continue to keep the set temperature for 30 minutes, then shuts off. The handle stays cools and I can set the hot pot down off of the power base without it burning my counter tops. What a great appliance! I have used it almost daily since I have owned it and it has been very dependable. I would highly recommend it to everyone!

it is an absolute waste of money. not suitable for indian voltage , the converter recommended by the seller was for a lower voltage & the coil was damaged. Had to throw the kettle. entire money gone down the drain.

I did not care about the hefty price. Ordered while mail strike was on. It is beautiful and it was a work anniversary present. It works great and is similar to the last visionary kettle I had (Which I used to death). It was hard to do the warranty for this though.

Great looking kettle with enough flexibility to keep the most discerning customer happy and a 3 year warranty – what more can you ask for?

What I really like is the colors, but the best thing is the sound at the end letting me know it’s done heating the water. Recommend it
