The perfect lights for your ceiling
I recently installed the Govee 6-inch recessed lights in my home, and I am absolutely blown away by them. The entire experience, from unboxing to the final setup, was incredibly straightforward.The installation process was far simpler than I anticipated. The lights are designed with a snap-in connector, which meant I didn’t have to deal with any complicated wiring. I simply connected the provided wire nuts to my existing wiring, then plugged the light fixture directly into the junction box. The entire process for each light took me less than ten minutes. The lights also come with strong spring clips that hold them securely in the ceiling without any wobbling.Once the lights were in, the real fun began. The Govee app makes controlling the lights effortless. I can easily adjust the brightness, color temperature, and choose from a seemingly endless array of colors. The lights are also incredibly vibrant and can be dimmed to a very low level without any flickering, which is perfect for creating a cozy atmosphere. Good quality recessed lighting
I was looking at the local hardware stores for some recessed lighting options, and everything was just so mundane and boring. Then I thought about Govee and all the other Govee LEDs I already had at home and wondered if they had any recessed lighting options, and they sure did. And actually the same or slightly cheaper than the ones at the store. And obviously being Govee, I knew they would have a lot more flexibility and options.The install was easy, they give you everything you need, even push in wire connectors, although I used my own Wago connectors.I bought a 6 + 3/8” recessed lighting hole saw kit for the ceiling, and while it did work, I would say that you should probably just use a 6” one because the one that I used made the holes a bit too big and the Govee lights barely cover the whole thing.Of course the Govee app is great. The brightness is good if you use the illumination mode, and you can choose the Kelvin of the white. Also never had any issues using Google Voice commands with Govee products either.Overall, a great idea for recessed lighting if you’re bored of the same old stuff from your local hardware store.

Great all around light.
Installed eight of these in my living room and they’re a huge improvement over the single lamp I had before. Easy to install, easy to setup. I have not done a ceiling install prior to this one. Colors are good, run them as white primarily.

Amazing lights for those who like smart homes
I installed these in our living room and wow, what a game changer. We have GOVEE smart lights on the outside of the house and the wife was hesitant to put them inside as well. Well after installing them she has seen light – literally.Interfacing with Alexa is amazing as you set the color temperature and brightness levels from your own couch without the need for the Govee app. The Govee app is nice too. We used it to set up lighting for movie night and used it to make a Halloween light show inside the house for when the trick-or-treaters came to our door.I took off one star because they did not install flat in the sections of our ceiling where there were floor joists. They stuck down about a 1/4″ and required some creative wood working to make them fit flush to the ceiling. Other than that, installation was breeze and setting them up couldn’t have been easier.

I love these. The color is unmatched! The directions made assembly very easy. I am surprised how well they work with the app. They dim easily with the app and are also energy efficiency because of the auto off ability in the app. I believe the durability of this product will hold up in my busy basement.

So easy to install. Very easy to setup in my Govee app and able to be programmed together so there’s no need to adjust one light at a time (unless I want to which is also awesome)!They are a perfect fit for what I needed to replace my lights. Everything I needed was included and I’m thrilled with the product.

Work great! Very bright!
Lights work great and on high setting are very bright. I was concerned that some reviews said the lights are not the color whenever they are turned off then on, but tp fix this, when connecting the lights create a group for the lights you want to be the same and they will all remain the same color as long as they are in the same group. They will even synced to whatever them you choose. Pretty cool.

Very easy install if you have basic lighting experience. Colours are bright, lights are adjustable (K) and dimmable. EVERYTHING is done in the app. Dimmer switch on the wall will make these less useful. Use a regular switch.I have these on a dimmer because I thought I could dim them but you can’t they, Just flicker and turn off. You need to dim them in the app. Again everything is doen in the app.You can save light settings that you like such as 100% bright at Purple colour or 2 lights on 2 lights off etc.These are bright, we only have 4 pot lights spread out in a 400 sqft area. I thought I would need to do work to add more lights but these 4 x 6inch lights are bright enough for the space. It was surprising!Very happy with the install, I had brackets in the ceiling with a bowl housing for the old light. I was able to pull down the bowl, the bracket would not come out it was installed before the ceiling drywall was on (by the builder) I used a long screwdriver and pressed up on the side of the old bracket until in bent up enough to fit the new lights. Check out youtube videos for better instructionsI would buy again

Nice lights, easy to install, I had regular LED’s already, so swapping these in were easy and fast. They work great so far. Work great. Just have to figure out how to work them work all at once instead of each one individually.

Edit: I have added a star as I got a replacement through Govee customer service .I noticed one more thing: there is no cUL or cETL marking on the driver or light.Please take a look at the photos to assess the quality of the electrical box. It appears that the knock-out hole cannot be removed. Additionally, the lamp’s body is quite thick, even thicker than drywall, measuring approximately 3/4″. The wires are too short, one inch longer would make installation easier.However, the most concerning issue is its functionality:There is a noticeable 3-4 second delay from the moment you turn the switch on until the light actually comes on. This delay is quite frustrating.Grouping the lights doesn’t seem to work as expected. Although you can group them, changing their configuration all at once is a slow process. Even when using preset modes, it takes about 30 seconds for all 8 lights to adjust to the selected configuration.These lights lack microphones, and they require a sync box or Lyra lamp that can control 5-7 lights simultaneously.I’ve been a satisfied owner of several other Govee products in the past, but unfortunately, these lights don’t meet the same standards. Perhaps a future software update could improve their performance, but currently, I’m struggling to see the value in this product.Update , customer support sent me a replacement.I would like to add more info .The control through Govee app is sluggish but much faster once you use a sync the box ( Govee music sync box) . Remember one of sync box control 7 devices . In my setup I have 3 rows of 5 lights and I use 3 boxes , I setup up on sync box for each row and the effect is very nice . Lights are not sluggish under the sync box control , it takes a while for the box to take control of them – maybe 15-20 sec ! but once they are under the sync box control the lights are really dynamic I will try to upload a video .Based on the functionality under the sync box I have added one more star.
