    Pricy but high quality
True to the quart size! Very durable. Used a bottle drink rack and it dried quickly and easily. Love the reusability, makes my environmentally-conscious self happy. The material is easy to work with. It opens easily but also seals very well. No issues with spillage.

    Amazing silicone bag
I love this bag. It’s crystal clear, easy to clean, high quality and infinitely reusable. It stands up on its own, making it very easy to fill or empty. The seal works well. It fits a huge amount of food.

    Expensive? Yes, but worth it!
I LOVE all these stash bags. I use them daily for our lunches and putting food away. They do not leak and the zipper works great. Only down side is that food can get stuck in it, but it’s easy to get out- you can pull the zipper track open a bit and the ends of zipper track where the front and back track come together is are not atattached to each other, so you can pull it apart and get food out of there, too. great product and I feel better about using it that ziplock plastic for chemical safety reasons as well as saving garbage from landfills. At first I thought they were too expensive, but now I definitely think they are worth the money! Easy to wash and so far easy to clean, even when I find a bag hidden under the kids seat full of moldy food… washes easily and no smell left behind!

Confident about the silicone content in this brand.
These things cost a fortune for a reason. Other brands just don’t compare. I previously bought a whole set from a widely advertised competitor. They felt high quality and performed well, but there was some kind of taste/smell left on all the foods that touched it. I didn’t understand how that could be, because I thought silicone is supposed to be absolutely neutral. I still do not know the answer to this question, but I gave away my other expensive set to my delighted daughter. One day, in the back of the drawer, I found two Stasher brand bags long ago purchased individually at the store. I thought I’d try silicone once more, although pretty sure the contents would be ruined because of my sensitivity to the taste/smell. I am combining those two senses, because sometimes they are overlapping senses and difficult to separate. Mostly, you can’t taste if you can’t smell; so it’s hard to tell which is really bothering you. At any rate, the Stasher silicone bags worked perfectly, just as promised, no smell/odor. TBF, I was the only person in the household who had an issue with the previous brand. No one else perceived it. I am very sensitive, and I have read that some brands, despite their claims, are not as purely silicone as they claim. But now, my daughter is perfectly happy with the other brand, and I am perfectly happy with my Stasher, except for the price, as I must now build up my stock. But again, it’s worth it!

Good for pump parts but I wish it was bigger
This is great. Well made, seals securely, but I wish it was bigger. I bought the mega size bag to store my pump parts in the fridge and it barely holds my assembled spectra pieces. It holds them but it’s a pain to get them in the bag because it’s a tight fit and they only barely fit.I was hoping it’d be closer to a gallon sized ziplock bag but feels a lot smaller.

    Reusable sturdy bag!
I love Stasher bags. These leak proof bags are easy to wash in the dishwasher on the top rack. They come in many colors, but I tend to like the clear ones better so that I can see what’s in the bag. I have a variety of sizes, but I love this one best because it subs in for the gallon size Ziploc! I want more!! They are very thick and sturdy! The only downside I have is that my father had a hard time opening them with his arthritis so if that is a concern, I would practice with one at a local store before buying it to see if you can get it opened easily. They do seal tight!

  7. In search of the perfect

    Prevents freezer burn
I have several of these. Some of them I’ve had for years and they are still as good as new. So much better than plastic bags for preventing freezer burn! I use them to freeze fresh fruit that I’ve cut up so that I can make quick smoothies for breakfast. Close the bag most of the way and then squeeze out the air before sealing.

    Expensive but last forever
UPDATE: I’ve added more Stashers over time, especially the mega, and our usage of plastic bags has dropped to almost zero. I buy my Ziplocs in quantity from Sam’s Club – 4 large bags of gallon- and quart-size per case – and typically bought a case 2-3 times a year (depending on size). I opened a box of gallon-size bags 3 months ago and still have plenty. In fact, our largest use was when we went on a trip last month since I use them for protecting just about everything in our suitcases and always tuck a bunch in the front pocket of my bag for snacks and things at our destination. Typically, I would already be on another box of Ziplocs. Quart-size was a big usage for us because we’ve always got multiple types of cheese in the refrigerator – all in Ziplocs. Now, they’re all in Stashers and we hardly use the quart size Ziplocs at all. Given our current rate of usage, I don’t anticipate needing to even think about buying more Ziplocs for at least a year. So, the Stashers, especially the ones for cheese and smaller items, are already paying for themselves. The Mega’s will take a bit longer, but, given that we can even thaw frozen meat in them rather than in Ziplocs (we’re always thawing steaks and chicken breast that afternoon for dinner because we’re pretty serendipitous about dinners), those Stashers I bought earlier have already paid for themselves. I do like these a lot.PREVIOUS REVIEW:My son runs a food business and focuses on zero waste to the greatest degree possible. He brought home some of the ones that he’d bought to sample and particularly liked the Stasher ones as he’s trying to help us get down as close to zero waste as we can. I got rid of plastic storage containers almost 10 years ago by switching to glass bowls with lids. They’re heavy, but great for storing all sorts of things, go into the dishwasher, and don’t absorb odors or dyes. But, we were still using Ziplocs for things like cheese, smaller leftovers, or things like hamburger patties and veggies that we kept in the freezer. So, the goal became not doing that. I’ll say right off that these are not cheap; in fact, they’re pretty expensive. So, I’m slowly building my stock of shapes and sizes one or two at a time. I’m up to a little more than a half dozen now and I’m starting to see a definite drop in our Ziploc bag usage. Each size and shape has its ideal usage be that cheese, cookies, frozen veggies, frozen hamburger patties (and other meats whose shape doesn’t lend itself well to wrapping in freezer paper), leftover pasta, you name it. I love that I can easily wash them in the dishwasher – just turn them inside out, plop over a divider post, and put them through with other dishes. I’m still figuring out a storage spot, but I can put smaller ones inside larger ones which helps. All in all, I’m really like these. I still need to find a size that will easily fit breads as the mega is not quite big enough (can take a half loaf just fine). Bottom line, it’s a big investment at the start, much like my glass storage ware was, but I’ll still be using these years from now, so they’ll pay off in Ziplocs not purchased as well as in their contribution toward zero waste in our house.
