Focus on sustainability

Small changes in product size & weight lead to lower carbon emissions.
We created Compact by Design to identify products that, while they may not always look very different, have a more efficient design. With the removal of excess air and water, products require less packaging and become more efficient to ship. At scale, these small differences in product size and weight lead to significant carbon emission reductions.
Here are a few of the many ways products can qualify:

I never expected to get enthusiastic about a dish cloth, of all things, but I am about these
I have enjoyed watching Brittany Vasseur on YouTube and was not satisfied with the various things I was using for the usual wiping up, cleaning, etc. kitchen/household tasks, so I decided to operate on the hypothesis that she was as trustworthy and ethical as she seemed to me on YouTube (pause for laughter from the cynics among you) and take a chance that her dish rags actual were some kind of special.Much to my happy surprise, to me, they are. So double win: great tool and a bit of faith restored: based on this sample of her company’s products, she may actually be as credible, honest, sincere and ethical as she seems. The first thing one notices is that the rags are pretty. Then it turns out they work better than all the things I’d been using, from sponges, to various other kinds of rags, to shop towels and paper towels– the whole gamut. These rags don’t shred with use–I’ve been using them for a while and they’re holding up perfectly. They even passed the grout-rubbing test (just a preliminary, but rigorous, rubbing; I don’t actually plan to use them to clean grout). They are just the right thickness to bend around everything I want to clean (e.g., the round base of the kitchen faucet that tries to collect minerals and gunk), yet thick enough to hold enough water that they don’t have to be aggravatingly often re-wetted and, as mentioned, thick enough to be sturdy.I don’t have a clue what it is that makes this so– maybe it’s my imagination– but they seem to work better than other rags, cloths, etc.–including those that seem similar in material and other respects. They feel better to me in using them and they seem to me to do a better job- both faster and more thorough. Also, there are a lot of them– she’s not skimping, and I don’t feel ripped off, despite the fact that, to me at least, the price was not exactly cheap.Having said that, I don’t begrudge a cent of what I sent. I am 100% happy with my purchase (and with Ms. Vasseur herself), and will definitely purchase these again, as well as being interested in buying any of her other products that might come in handy.Last– a BONUS! Included on the package is an offer to scan the QR code printed on the (to me, well designed and aesthetically interesting and pleasing– again, just what I would expect/hope for from this YouTuber) envelope in which the dish cloths arrive), and get your next Belle Terre product at 50% off.For most of you, this will be a great deal. For me, it’s a bummer, because I don’t have a way to scan it, being a Luddite. This is my one and only disappointment in this first venture of mine in shopping with Belle Terre– there was no alternate means offered to take advantage of this deal, which, given my satisfaction with these great dish cloths (which, at the risk of sounding like a total nut, make me happy each time I use them) I would have. I wish, e.g., she had made the same offer to those who emailed her company an Amazon order number as proof of purchase.Still, this is no way enough to change my total satisfaction, or to make me forget how it’s often the smallest, most mundane and surprising things that can add moments of joy to our days.

Best In Class Product!
I have used several other high quality (or what I thought was high quality) Swedish dish cloths. I love these as an alternate to paper towels or to clean up counters after cooking. The Belle Terre cloths blow every other Swedish dish cloth out of the water. They are so much thicker and more absorbent. I love that you can clean them on top rack of dishwasher and lay flat to dry. Not to mention the beautiful prints are a lovely addition to any kitchen.

Fantastic reusable dishcloths — eco-friendly, absorbent, and durable – Good to nature
I’m really pleased with these dishcloths. They’re much more absorbent than a regular sponge — they pick up spills, wipe down counters, and clean dishes without leaving streaks. Because they’re made from a cotton-cellulose blend, they dry quickly and don’t develop the awful mildew smell that sponges often get.I also love the “replace paper towels” aspect — one cloth easily replaces many rolls of paper towels, which saves money and reduces waste. The fact that they’re machine-washable and reusable up to 200 times makes them an excellent long-term investment. Plus, they feel sturdy and don’t tear or fall apart after multiple uses.If you’re trying to make your kitchen more sustainable or just want a reliable cleaning cloth that lasts much longer than disposable towels, these are a great pick.

Get rid of papertowels
I love these and use them instead of wasting paper towels.

Very handy item to have in the kitchen
Being originally from Germany, I knew these types of kitchen cloths as they are very common in Europe. I am glad that I found them here on Amazon, although the price it a bit high. They are very absorbent, work well on dishes, countertops and pretty much everything you might want to wipe down. These cloths seem to get a funky smell pretty quick but maybe I just kept them too wet. Let them dry completely between uses. I hope they will last a while but knowing from experience, they will eventually disintegrate and need to be thrown out. I will buy them again if they don’t break down too fast.

Love these Swedish dish cloths!!!
These Swedish dish cloths are quite possibly the best product I’ve ever used in my home! I’m not even kidding. We were going through so many paper towels not only was it wasteful but it was also getting very EXPENSIVE!!! I was looking for an alternative and I found Swedish dish cloths, but most of them are so unattractive looking they looked ugly in my kitchen. These ones have the pretty neutral prints and pastel tones that look lovely in my home and I now use them for EVERYTHING: as a paper towel replacement, as a sponge, as a microfiber towel to clean my home, to clean my car (interior and exterior), I even use these in the bath to clean my kids – not even kidding!!!These ones in particular are thicker and more plush and absorbent than others that I have tried. I typically wash them by hand using dish soap, I ring them out and then hang them to dry on my roll-out dish rack and I always have one clean and ready to go when I need them. I also will even run a load in my washing machine or put them on the top rack of my dishwasher to clean. They dry fast and are bacteria resistant unlike sponges which harbor so much bacteria and have a nasty smell. These are truly genius

Feels just like a paper towel
Weird, but when you get these wet they feel just like a paper towel. They work just as described and leave no streaks on my glass stove. The price is worth it, as you can get so many uses out of it, its easy to use and works best when you get it wet then ring out the excess water. Great standard size, the color choices are quite adorable, though to stay in budget I ordered the cheapest print. Will purchase again when it needs replaced.

These are the best. Durable and they don’t smell like a dish rag does after a days use. I’ll buy many more

I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect cloth for around the house. Recently I purchased another brand, which was great except it smelled e less than 24 hours and had to be reassured. These cloths are MAGICAL and solve all messes and complaints I’ve had about other cloths. The best parts, they don’t drip, they are dishwasher or machine washable, they completely replace paper towels, act like a multipurpose cloth and are compostable AND the sweetest part is the little kitty sponge that it comes with. 10/10 recommended
